Woman smiling in a new wheelchair

Glenda

Glenda, an amputee, was referred to IATP’s ICC Program for assistance obtaining a new wheelchair. Her old wheelchair was in quite a state of disrepair, with the armrests cracking and peeling. The brakes on her wheelchair were run down and unreliable, which caused several falls as she tried to transfer to and from the chair.

When the ICC staff visited Glenda at her home to deliver her new wheelchair, she was all smiles! She was able to transfer to and from the new chair with ease. Her gratitude and excitement for the increased mobility with this new chair will provide her more independence within her home and the community.
